An earth rod is a short electrode, typically 1–2 meters in length.
Earth rods are used either as a single rod for simple protective earthing, or by driving multiple rods into the ground at intervals of 3–4 meters to provide wide dispersion and thus higher efficiency, for example in connection with lightning discharge systems.
To achieve an optimal connection that can withstand large transients while maintaining the best possible conductivity and long service life, Electricon uses exothermic welding, which provides joints with superior connection quality and durability.
Earth rods are installed in surface soil and are therefore affected by weather conditions throughout the year.
